Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Pizza cutter or knife

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, almond flour, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Crack the egg into the mixing bowl and stir all ingredients together until a dough forms.
  4. Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and use a rolling pin to roll it out to about ¼ inch thick.
  5. Remove the top layer of parchment paper and use a pizza cutter or knife to cut the dough into squares or desired shapes.
  6. Transfer the cut crackers to the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store any leftover crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. If you want to re-crisp them, simply place them back in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 5 minutes.
Variations:
- Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
- Incorporate different cheese varieties for varied flavors (like mozzarella or pepper jack).
- Sprinkle with herbs such as oregano or thyme for an aromatic twist.
