- Apple Filling
Step 1:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Step 2:
- Add the diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Step 3:
- Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring often, until the apples soften and the mixture becomes syrupy.
- Step 4:
- Remove from heat and allow the filling to cool slightly.
- Assemble the Rolls
Step 5:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 6:
- Fill a shallow bowl with warm water. Dip one rice paper sheet into the water for 5–8 seconds until just pliable.
Step 7:
- Lay the softened rice paper flat on a clean surface.
Step 8:
- Spoon a small amount of apple filling near the bottom center.
Step 9:
- Fold in the sides, then roll tightly like a spring roll.
Step 10:
- Place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 11:
- Repeat with remaining rice paper and filling.
Step 12:
- Lightly brush or spray the rolls with the remaining cooking oil.
- Bake
Step 13:
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crisp.
Step 14:
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
